Web Search Integration

Enable your AI assistant to search the web for current information, news, and real-time data

Overview

The Web Search integration allows your AI assistant to search the internet for current information beyond its training data. Perfect for getting recent news, latest developments, current events, or any time-sensitive information.

Setup

1

Navigate to Settings

Go to Settings → Integrations → Policies in your Mimesys dashboard

2

Enable Web Search

Toggle on the Web Search option. Search is enabled by default for all users.

3

Start Using

Simply ask your AI questions that require current information, and it will automatically search when needed

Example Prompts

"What are the latest developments in AI regulation in 2025?"

"Search for recent news about renewable energy breakthroughs"

"What's the current weather in San Francisco?"

"Find the latest product reviews for the iPhone 16"

How It Works

  1. Automatic Detection: The AI determines when web search is needed based on your question
  2. Search Execution: Queries multiple search engines for relevant results
  3. Result Processing: Analyzes and synthesizes information from search results
  4. Response: Provides you with an answer citing sources from the web

Best Practices

Do

  • Ask for current/recent information
  • Request specific time frames (e.g., "in 2025")
  • Be specific about what you're looking for
  • Ask for sources if you need verification

Avoid

  • Questions about general knowledge (AI already knows)
  • Sensitive personal information searches
  • Requests requiring authentication
  • Expecting real-time data (results may be minutes old)

Limitations

  • • Search results are limited to publicly accessible web pages
  • • Cannot access paywalled or login-required content
  • • Results may be a few minutes behind real-time
  • • Subject to search engine rate limits
